2026-10-19 — Field operations

Field operations brings your housekeeping and maintenance into ShortletBox: turnovers with room-by-room photo checklists and ready-by deadlines, monthly inspections and quarterly audits with manager review and spot checks, repairs with priority deadlines and owner/landlord approval above ₦50,000, and a monthly housekeeper scorecard with CSV export.
A new Field role gives housekeepers a phone-first app with only their own jobs — no guest details beyond a first name, no money.

New Money → Accounting. Payments, stays, invoices and expenses write their own double-entry books, and stays count as income on their checkout date.
The Trial balance tab shows every account’s balance on any date, with CSV export.
Paystack’s actual card fee is now recorded on each card payment.
Admins can record landlord payouts, transfers between your accounts and Airbnb or Booking.com payouts, post journal entries, and add bank accounts.

Expenses now record who was paid and whether the money came from the bank or from cash. A VAT-registered business can also enter the VAT included in each one.
There are new categories: rent, salaries, marketing, insurance, professional fees, bank charges, and supplies.
Costs of the whole business, with no apartment, are recorded from Money → Expenses.
On a landlord’s apartment, you can choose not to deduct a cost from the landlord’s statement.
Removing an expense now cancels it. It stays on the record, and is left out of every total and statement.

The Zoho Books connection has been removed from Settings, and invoices no longer show a Zoho sync line. Invoices, payments and their PDFs are unchanged. Accounting built into ShortletBox is coming, with profit and loss, balance sheet and VAT reports, so the books can be kept without a separate system.
If you had connected Zoho Books, ShortletBox no longer holds your Zoho access. You can also remove ShortletBox from your Zoho account’s connected apps.

Support documents how owners, admins, and staff open a request from the admin sidebar and follow replies on the ticket.
Payout verification replaces the old escrow payout steps. Guest card money settles to the host’s Paystack account when the guest pays. The guide covers the personal NIN check (KYC) and the registered-business check (KYB): a paid plan, the RC or BN number, the director’s NIN, and the bank account in the business’s registered name.

Owners and admins can give each sales agent an unlisted portfolio containing only assigned properties. Photos and availability stay current, prices stay private, and booking enquiries go to the agent on WhatsApp.
Owners and admins can create a 48-hour payment hold at an exact negotiated nightly rate and email the client a secure payment link from Bookings.
Customer guides now cover agent setup, attributed bookings, payment-link delivery, expiry and the access rules for both workflows.

Documentation moved to the static-first Astro + Starlight platform, with build-time Pagefind search and generated llms.txt / llms-full.txt context files.
Site restyled with the ShortletBox brand: navy surfaces, ember accents, Poppins display type and IBM Plex body text.

Per-page feedback widget and a version switcher seam for future major documentation releases.
