Plans & billing
ShortletBox is freemium: every workspace starts on the Free plan and upgrades when the business outgrows it.

What a plan controls
Section titled “What a plan controls”Two levers:
- Feature flags: whether the workspace can use WhatsApp messaging, channel sync, reports, coupons and invoices.
- Monthly booking cap: how many bookings can be created per calendar month (Lagos time). Cancelling a booking doesn’t refund quota. The Free plan allows 10 a month; paid plans are typically uncapped.
As you approach the cap, the admin shows a warning banner from 80%; at the cap, new bookings are blocked until the month rolls over or you upgrade. Separately from plans, unverified self-serve accounts are limited to 5 bookings a month until KYC clears.
Upgrading and paying
Section titled “Upgrading and paying”Billing (sidebar, owners only) shows the plan cards and your current usage meter. Upgrading runs through Paystack checkout; your subscription renews monthly.
- A failed renewal raises a past-due banner in your admin and sends a payment-failed email. Your data and screens keep working while you fix the card.
- Cancel turns off auto-renew; you keep your plan until the period ends, then drop to Free automatically.
Suspension
Section titled “Suspension”Platform operators can suspend an account (fraud, abuse, non-payment). A suspended workspace’s admin shows a clear lockout page, but guests’ check-in links deliberately keep working, because the people staying tonight shouldn’t pay for a billing dispute.
For platform operators
Section titled “For platform operators”Plans themselves (names, pricing, caps, flags) are managed in the platform console. Edits propagate everywhere plans are read, including the marketing site’s pricing section (live within five minutes, no redeploy).
