Coupons & discounts
ShortletBox has two discount mechanisms, always applied in the same order: first the property’s length-of-stay discount, then the guest’s coupon. A discount can never take a total below zero.
Length-of-stay discounts
Section titled “Length-of-stay discounts”Configured per property (see Properties & pricing): percentage tiers at 7, 14, 21 and 30 nights. A 16-night stay gets the 14-night tier. These apply automatically, no code needed.
Coupons
Section titled “Coupons”Created from Coupons in the sidebar:
- Kind: a percentage (1-100%) or a fixed naira amount.
- Scope: the whole workspace, or one property.
- Validity window: optional start and end dates.
- Redemption cap: an optional maximum number of uses.
Codes are case-insensitive (stored upper-case) and unique within your workspace. A coupon is live when it’s active, started, not expired and not exhausted. The list shows exactly which of those states each code is in, plus redemptions used and total discount granted.
Redemption is race-safe: when two guests race for a coupon’s last slot, only one wins, and the other gets a friendly message, not an over-redeemed code.
Coupons are entered on the public booking form, on the admin New Booking form, and via the public API. A bad code never breaks the quote: the price stands and the code reports why it didn’t apply.
Bulk generation
Section titled “Bulk generation”Bulk generate mints up to 1,000 codes at once under a batch label, ideal for a promo blast or partner distribution, with a CSV export of the batch to hand off.
Deactivating
Section titled “Deactivating”A coupon can be deactivated at any time; already-redeemed uses are history and stay counted.
