Finding your way around
Each surface has its own navigation, sized to its audience. This page is the map.
Admin sidebar
Section titled “Admin sidebar”The admin app uses a left sidebar organised into four groups. The top bar carries the current page title, a booking search box, and the New Booking button.
| Group | Item | What’s behind it |
|---|---|---|
| Dashboard | Booked value, occupancy, arrivals & departures, the action queue | |
| Bookings | Every booking, filterable by status. The badge counts requests awaiting approval | |
| Calendar | Month timeline of bookings, manual blocks and OTA blocks | |
| Operations | Properties | Your listings, pricing, photos, archive |
| Operations | Booking site | Links, QR codes and embed snippets for your public site |
| Operations | Guests | Guest directory with stay history and lifetime value |
| Operations | Messages | Message templates and the send log |
| Operations | Landlords | Landlord access: invitations and property assignments |
| Money | Payments | The global payments ledger, with CSV export |
| Money | Invoices | Corporate invoicing. A red badge counts overdue invoices |
| Money | Expenses | Property running costs (opens the Expenses report tab) |
| Money | Coupons | Discount codes and bulk generation |
| Money | Reports | VAT, revenue, ledger and expense reporting |
| Workspace | Billing | Your ShortletBox plan and subscription (owners only) |
| Workspace | Settings | Organisation details, tax, payouts, house rules, integrations, API keys |
Below the top bar, contextual banners appear when they matter: an amber banner while a platform admin is viewing your account, a past-due subscription notice, and a booking-quota warning as you approach your plan’s monthly cap.
Landlord portal
Section titled “Landlord portal”The portal deliberately uses a slim top bar, not a sidebar. A landlord has exactly three destinations:
- Overview: the month at a glance and each apartment’s performance.
- Earnings: the monthly statement, gross → management fee → expenses → net.
- Bookings: stays in their apartments, in guest-friendly language.
The bar shows the managing business’s name with “Owner view” beneath it, and the landlord’s own name marked “View only”.
Platform console
Section titled “Platform console”The /platform console (platform operators only) has a white sidebar with
one main group:
- Overview: active accounts, MRR, commission, suspended count.
- Host accounts: every tenant business, searchable and filterable.
- Plans: subscription plans, pricing and feature flags.
- Revenue & payouts and System health: marked Soon. Each renders an honest placeholder naming exactly what isn’t built yet.
An Audit log card sits at the bottom counting the last 24 hours of admin actions.
Public booking site
Section titled “Public booking site”Guests see a minimal nav: your logo, your listings, and contact actions (phone / WhatsApp) that appear only when you’ve set a WhatsApp number in Settings. The footer shows your contact email and address. Every link goes somewhere real: the site never shows menu items for pages that don’t exist.
